Starting January 20, 2026, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh may return five associated funerary objects to the culturally affiliated Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations named in this notice. The five objects are one stone pipe, one lithic projectile point, one iron trade point, one iron trade knife, and one lot of iron trade points (the lot is listed as missing).

Who May Request Repatriation

Written requests for repatriation may be submitted by any one or more of the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations identified in this notice, or by any lineal descendant, Indian Tribe, or Native Hawaiian organization not identified that shows by a preponderance of the evidence cultural affiliation. Repatriation may occur on or after January 20, 2026; if competing requests are received, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh must determine the most appropriate requestor, and joint requests are treated as a single request.
