DA40 fuel-hose replacement and inspections

If you own or operate a Diamond Aircraft Model DA 40, DA 40 F, or DA 40 NG airplane, this proposed rule would require replacing affected fuel tank connection hoses, inspecting the main fuel tank chambers, and removing any detached rubber material. You must do these actions within 100 hours time-in-service or within 2 months, whichever occurs first, after the effective date of the AD; as of the AD effective date, installing an affected part is prohibited. The FAA estimates the rule would affect 987 U.S.-registered airplanes and gives per-airplane cost estimates: inspection $85, removing detached rubber $425, and replacing the hose $1,233 (10 labor hours at $85/hr plus $383 parts).
