Businesses can register to view DEA CSA data

If you are a business that is not a DEA registrant, you can apply to register for access to the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) Database System to see the names and registration statuses of all DEA-registrants. The application must be completed and applicants are required to re-apply annually using the DEA form.

$20 annual fee per applicant

DEA will charge a $20 fee to each applicant for the Registration for CSA Data-Use Request to recover processing costs. DEA estimates 16,000 respondents, which produces an annual monetized cost of $320,000 due to the $20 fee charged to each respondent.

Time burden: 15 minutes per application

DEA estimates each Registration for CSA Data-Use Request takes 15 minutes (0.25 hours) to complete. DEA estimates 16,000 total responses and a total annual burden of 4,000 hours for all respondents.
