On January 31, 2026, the Coast Guard will block off parts of Tampa’s waterways for the Gasparilla Invasion and Parade to keep everyone safe. Tampa waterways closed Jan 31

On January 31, 2026, parts of Tampa waterways (portions of Hillsborough Bay, Seddon Channel, Sparkman Channel, and the Hillsborough River) will be closed from 9:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. No vessel may enter, transit, anchor in, or remain within the regulated area unless authorized by the Coast Guard Patrol Commander or a designated representative.

Spectator vessels limited outside zone

Spectator vessels may transit outside the regulated area during the event on January 31, 2026, but they may not anchor, block, loiter, or impede parade participants or official patrol vessels, and they may not enter the regulated area without Coast Guard approval.

Participants may get Coast Guard permission

Vessels participating in the Gasparilla parade may remain in the regulated area, and other vessels may enter the area only if authorized by the Coast Guard Patrol Commander or a designated representative during enforcement from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on January 31, 2026.
