Temporary 100- and 25-yard Safety Zones

From January 16, 2026 until January 31, 2026 the Coast Guard is setting two safety zones around the M/V ZHEN HUA 24 in the Houston Ship Channel and at Barbours Cut Terminal, Morgan's Point, TX. A moving safety zone covers all waters within 100 yards of the vessel while it transits, and a fixed safety zone covers all waters within 25 yards while it is moored at approximate position 29°40'00" N, 094°59'23" W.

Access Only With Captain of the Port Permission

No vessel or person may enter these safety zones unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Houston-Galveston (COTP) or a designated representative; to request permission, contact the COTP on VHF-FM channel 16 or by telephone at (866) 539-8114. The Coast Guard will notify the public of specific enforcement times by Broadcast Notices to Mariners and Marine Safety Information Bulletins; if you follow the rules you should not face fees or fines.
