Reopening Pacific Cod Trawl Fishery

Starting February 3, 2026, catcher vessels using trawl gear may again fish for Pacific cod in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska through June 10, 2026. The A season allowance for these vessels is 3,508 metric tons, and about 3,477 metric tons remained as of February 5, 2026. NMFS reopened the fishery to prevent underharvest so vessels can take their full seasonal share.
