States Must Prove UCR Fee Use
On February 5, 2026 the UCR Board will consider a proposal to require each participating state to demonstrate its use of Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) entitlement revenue in accordance with 49 U.S.C. 14504a(e)(1)(B). Participating states are required to use an amount at least equal to the revenue derived from the UCR Agreement for motor carrier safety programs, enforcement, or administration of the UCR Plan, and the Board may take action to require states to show they are meeting that requirement.
