One-Hour Safety Zone on Lower Mississippi

If you operate a boat on the Lower Mississippi River in New Orleans, you cannot enter the waterway between Mile Marker 93.0 and 96.0 from 6 p.m. through 7 p.m. on February 16, 2026, unless you get permission from the Captain of the Port or a designated representative. The Coast Guard will notify mariners by Broadcast Notice to Mariners and on VHF-FM Channels 16 and 22A. This one-hour safety measure is intended to protect people and water traffic and does not impose extra costs on the public.
