EPA Officially Cancels Select Pesticide Products After Company Requests

Published Date: 2/20/2026

Notice

Summary

The EPA is officially canceling certain pesticide products starting February 20, 2026, after the companies asked to stop their registrations and no one objected. This means these pesticides can no longer be sold or used except under special rules for leftover stock. Farmers, pesticide sellers, and anyone using these products should get ready for these changes to avoid surprises and plan ahead.

4 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.

Three Botran Fungicide Registrations Canceled

The EPA cancelled the registrations for Botran 75-W, Botran 5F, and Botran P 5F (active ingredient: dicloran) effective February 20, 2026. After that date these specific products may no longer be distributed, sold, or newly used except as allowed under the order's existing stocks provisions.

Registrant Allowed 18-Month Sell-Through

The registrant (Gowan Company, LLC) may continue to sell and distribute existing stocks of the cancelled products until August 20, 2027, an 18-month period after the cancellation order. After August 20, 2027, the registrant cannot sell or distribute these products domestically except for export or proper disposal.

Post-Sell-Through Export and Disposal Only

After August 20, 2027, registrants are prohibited from selling or distributing the cancelled products domestically; they may only export them under FIFRA section 17 or dispose of them properly. Domestic commercial distribution after that date is not allowed.

Third Parties May Use Existing Stocks Until Exhausted

Persons other than the registrant may sell, distribute, or use existing stocks of the cancelled products until those stocks are exhausted, provided such actions are consistent with the previously approved labeling. This means retailers and users can continue to use labeled product already on hand.
