Security Steps Required Before Data Access

If you apply to access BTS restricted transportation microdata and your SAP Portal application is approved, you must complete BTS's security requirements outside the Portal. These requirements may include a background investigation, confidentiality training, nondisclosure agreements, and data use agreements before you are granted access.

Paperwork Time Burden and Application Volume

BTS estimates the average time to complete and submit its data security agreements and paperwork is 90 minutes per approved applicant. BTS expects to collect security information for about five approved SAP Portal applications per year, for a total burden of 22.5 hours over a three-year OMB clearance (an average annual burden of 7.5 hours).
