Mandatory LED Sidewall Wire Inspections

If you operate certain Boeing 777-200LR or 777-300ER airplanes identified in Boeing Special Attention Requirements Bulletin 777-33-0069 RB (October 15, 2024), you must perform a general visual inspection of the LED sidewall wire bundles and do required repairs, replacements, routing adjustments, or install new clips/ringposts/clamps at the times specified in that bulletin. This AD is effective April 20, 2026, and requires following the bulletin's “Compliance” schedule and accomplishment instructions.

Estimated Compliance Costs for U.S. Operators

The FAA estimates this AD affects 31 U.S.-registered airplanes. Inspection costs are estimated up to $23,890 per airplane (labor up to 100 work-hours × $85/hour = $8,500 plus parts up to $15,390), for a total cost on U.S. operators of up to $740,590; required on-condition repairs or replacements are estimated up to $7,698 per product (1 work-hour × $85 = $85 plus parts up to $7,613).
