Open hybrid public meeting

The Department of Energy is holding a hybrid (in-person and virtual) open meeting on April 29, 2026 (8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. PDT) and April 30, 2026 (8 a.m.–12 p.m. PDT) at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Pasco-Tri-Cities, 4525 Convention Place, Pasco, WA. You can register to attend or virtually observe at https://www.hanford.gov/page.cfm/hab.

Public comment rules and deadlines

The meeting is open for public comment with 15 minutes allocated during the meeting and a minimum of two minutes per oral commenter. To speak, note this in your registration email; written comments received at least two working days before the meeting will be provided to board members and included in the meeting minutes, and written comments received within two working days after the meeting will be included in the minutes.

The EM SSAB will try to accommodate persons with physical disabilities or special needs; if you require special accommodations due to a disability, contact the EM SSAB Designated Federal Officer at [email protected] at least seven days in advance of the meeting.

Board advises on site cleanup issues

The Board provides advice and recommendations on EM site-specific issues including cleanup activities and environmental restoration; waste and nuclear materials management and disposition; excess facilities; future land use; and long-term stewardship. The Board also helps fulfill public participation requirements under NEPA, CERCLA, RCRA, Federal Facility Agreements, Consent Orders, Consent Decrees, and Settlement Agreements.
