EPA Finalizes Cancellation of Certain Pesticides Effective March 27, 2026

Published Date: 3/27/2026

Notice

Summary

The EPA is officially canceling certain pesticide products starting March 27, 2026, after the companies asked to stop their registrations and no one objected. This means these pesticides can no longer be sold or used except under special rules for leftover stock. Farmers, pesticide sellers, and anyone using these products should get ready for these changes to avoid surprises and plan ahead.

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.

Two Pesticide Products Canceled

The EPA canceled two pesticide registrations effective March 27, 2026: Tilt Bravo SE (Chlorothalonil 38.5%, Propiconazole 2.9%) registered to Syngenta Crop Protection (Company No. 100), and Image 1.5 LC Herbicide (monoammonium salt, 17.3%) registered to Amvac Chemical Corporation (Company No. 5481). That means these specific products can no longer be sold or newly distributed after the cancellation date except as allowed under the order.

Existing Stocks Sale Window

Registrants may sell and distribute existing stocks of the canceled products until March 29, 2027 (one year after the Cancellation Order publication). People other than the registrant may sell, distribute, or use existing stocks until those stocks are exhausted, as long as those actions follow the product's previously approved labeling.

Post-Window Sale Ban and Legal Risk

After March 29, 2027, registrants are prohibited from selling or distributing the canceled products except for export under FIFRA section 17 or proper disposal. Any distribution, sale, or use that is inconsistent with the order's existing-stocks provisions will violate FIFRA and could lead to enforcement action.
