Marshall University has identified human remains representing 27 Native American individuals and 26 associated funerary objects from sites in West Virginia. These remains and objects may be returned to the Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations named in the notice, or to a lineal descendant or other tribe/organization that proves cultural affiliation, beginning April 27, 2026.
