Clearer fee information for Alaska university students

Beginning July 1, 2027, the University of Alaska must give each enrolled student a bill listing tuition and fees separately. The Board of Regents must also email enrolled students before adding or raising a covered mandatory fee. The email must explain the fee or increase amount, the reason, and how the money will be used. When practical, the email must arrive at least 30 days before the charge starts. Covered mandatory fees apply to all enrolled students university-wide or at one campus. The notice rule excludes course fees, matriculation fees, parking permit fees, and other fees excluded by Board of Regents policy. These requirements do not change the amounts charged.
