Effective June 1, 2025, the law keeps Alabama’s State Board of Midwifery and its governing laws in place until October 1, 2029. Starting June 1, 2025, appointments must shift toward one member living in and appointed from each congressional district. This change takes place as current members’ terms expire, rather than replacing everyone at once. The law preserves midwifery oversight but does not create a direct household payment or benefit.
