Calhoun County can raise registrars’ extra pay

Beginning October 1, 2025, the Calhoun County Commission can raise board of registrars members’ extra pay by resolution. Members receive $15 extra for each day they attend board business when the board is authorized to meet. This money comes from the county general fund, on top of all other pay; no increase amount is set. If the Alabama Constitution or other law bars a sitting member’s pay increase, it is paid as an expense allowance. At the start of the member’s next term, that amount becomes regular compensation and the allowance ends.
