The law sets a pay schedule for the St. Clair County Revenue Commissioner. Beginning June 1, 2023, an expense allowance covers the gap between the commissioner’s May 5, 2023 salary and the county probate judge’s salary. It replaces the prior expense allowance and is paid in equal monthly installments from the county general fund. Beginning June 1, 2025, the commissioner gets another $375 monthly from that fund—$4,500 for a full year. The law takes effect June 1, 2025, and repeals Section 4 of Act 2020-182, an earlier commissioner pay rule. Beginning October 1, 2027, the commissioner’s annual salary matches the probate judge’s salary, and both expense allowances end.
