Beginning June 1, 2025, Choctaw County’s probate judge can charge an extra $10 per document submitted for recording. The fee applies only to documents subject to a deed or mortgage tax. Fees and interest must go monthly into the Choctaw County Probate Judge Fund in the county treasury. The judge alone decides how to spend this money, which can only support probate office operations. Allowed uses include digitizing records, buying or updating technology, and improving recordkeeping.
