Clarke County can cover coroner office costs

Effective immediately upon enactment, the law lets the Clarke County Commission pay actual and necessary costs of the coroner’s office. These payments are separate from the coroner’s pay under existing law. Covered costs include personal vehicle mileage for the coroner or a deputy coroner, and providing a county vehicle. All payments are subject to commission rules, and the law sets no funding amount. The law also retroactively confirms earlier office expense payments and related commission actions.
