Beginning March 1, 2025, an added expense allowance brings the St. Clair County coroner’s total base compensation to $3,450 monthly. Beginning January 18, 2027, the coroner receives a $3,450 monthly base salary plus a $600 monthly expense allowance. That totals $4,050 monthly, and earlier allowances or other pay beyond these amounts are void starting that date. The law repeals earlier coroner pay and benefit laws. It took effect June 1, 2025, applies retroactively to March 1, 2025, and confirms actions taken under it since then.
