Beginning October 1, 2025, Alabama law bans people and businesses from charging unconscionable prices during declared emergencies. The ban covers goods sold or rented, facility rentals, and services. It applies only during the times and in the areas named in a Governor’s proclamation or Legislature’s joint resolution. Violations fall under the state’s existing consumer protection law. The amendment does not set a specific price limit.
