Mobile County sheriff controls monitoring and fees

Beginning June 1, 2025, the Mobile County Sheriff runs all electronic monitoring for people awaiting trial in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit. The Sheriff cannot contract with another entity to provide monitoring services. Only the Sheriff can set administrative and supervision fees to fund electronic monitoring. The Sheriff may collect these fees from people in pretrial release, alternative sentencing, intervention, supervision, or other programs serving these courts. All collected fees go into the Mobile County general fund. The law does not set fee amounts.
