Bibb County probate judge pay revised

The law sets pay for Bibb County’s probate judge only if the judge is licensed to practice law in Alabama. Starting pay equals 80% of a state district judge’s first-step state base salary when the probate judge first takes office. The probate judge gets the same dollar increases, including service-step and cost-of-living increases, as a district judge with equal service. Bibb County pays this salary in equal installments from its general fund, replacing all other compensation provided by law. The law took effect immediately and applies retroactively to January 1, 2021.
