Effective immediately, nonresident surplus line insurance broker applicants no longer face Alabama’s resident licensing requirements, including a minimum $50,000 bond. Applicants still must apply and pay the license fee. They may handle only insurance types they are licensed to handle in good standing in their home state. The license expires on the next December 31 after issuance.
