Arkansas funds provider oversight and staff

The law provides about $19.44 million for Arkansas’s Division of Provider Services and Quality Assurance within Human Services. Funding covers July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The division can employ up to 186 regular workers and eight temporary or part-time workers as needed. Regular jobs have set pay grades; temporary pay cannot exceed state limits for each job classification. Funding includes about $10.96 million for regular salaries, $67,657 for temporary workers, and $2,909 for overtime. It also includes about $4.04 million for employer matching costs and $3.64 million for operating expenses. Another $25,000 covers conferences and travel, while $703,675 covers professional fees. The state’s chief fiscal officer selects the paying account. Spending must stay within available funds, follow state purchasing and budget laws, and serve the approved budget purposes. This law funds agency operations, not direct household payments.
