Arkansas Tech Gets One-Year Operating Funding

For July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law authorizes about $224.16 million for Arkansas Tech operations and projects. The Arkansas Tech University Fund provides about $43.33 million for university operations and $2.03 million for Arkansas Tech Institute. Another $178.80 million in university cash funds covers pay, benefits, operating costs, travel, professional services, and other campus expenses. Cash funding includes about $54.72 million for capital improvements, $16 million for capital purchases, and $10.5 million for debt payments. Spending must follow state budget, purchasing, and salary rules; this funding does not provide direct payments to households.

Arkansas Tech Sets Staffing And Pay Caps

For July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, Arkansas Tech and its Ozark Campus have authorized regular positions and title-specific staffing and pay limits. Annual pay ceilings include $365,882 for the president, $228,748 for distinguished professors, and $200,682 for professors—not guaranteed salaries. The university can also employ up to 1,615 temporary or part-time Extra Help workers when needed. Their pay cannot exceed applicable state classification rates or the rates listed in this law. Extra Help pay must come from funds set aside for that purpose, and the authorization does not guarantee jobs.
