Cossatot College Gets Funding and Staffing Authority

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law authorizes about $22.50 million for Cossatot Community College. This includes about $5.54 million from the college’s state fund and $16.96 million from cash funds. The money covers salaries, employee benefit costs, and operations. Cash funds also include $1.25 million for equipment and other capital purchases, $500,000 for capital improvements, and $750,000 for debt payments. The college can employ up to 204 regular employees and 100 temporary or part-time extra-help workers when needed. Listed salary limits apply to regular jobs; extra-help pay cannot exceed the allowed rate for the job classification. These authorizations do not guarantee jobs, and spending must follow available-funding limits, state fiscal controls, and stated budget purposes.
