Arkansas funds child support enforcement

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, Arkansas provides about $77.95 million for child support enforcement operations. The money comes from the Child Support Enforcement Fund, including about $13.85 million for data processing and equipment. The law allows up to 775 regular employees, including 290 child support specialists and 47 child support supervisors or experts. It also allows up to 15 temporary or part-time workers, with $100,000 budgeted for their pay. Their pay cannot exceed state job-classification rates, but they are exempt from the extra-help hours limit. Employment lasting more than seven months must be reported to the Legislative Council or Joint Budget Committee. Spending cannot exceed the appropriation or available funds and must follow state purchasing, budgeting, accounting, and other fiscal rules. Funds must serve the purposes recorded in the budget process. This law funds agency operations; it does not set household payment amounts or change benefit eligibility.
