Arkansas Northeastern College gets yearly operating funds

For July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law authorizes about $38.77 million for Arkansas Northeastern College. This includes about $11.22 million from the college’s state fund and $27.55 million in cash funds. State funding includes $7.7 million for regular salaries, $2 million for employer benefit costs, and $534,230 for contingency expenses. Cash funding includes $2.075 million for regular salaries, $1.05 million for temporary workers, $29,350 for overtime, and $2.625 million for employer benefit costs. It also includes $8.375 million for operating costs, $500,000 for travel, and $800,000 for professional fees. Another $6 million covers capital purchases, $4.5 million covers capital improvements, and $1 million covers debt payments. Cash funding also includes $400,000 for transfers, refunds, and investments, plus $200,000 for promotional items. Spending cannot exceed authorized amounts or available funds and must follow state fiscal laws and finance department rules. This money supports the college; it is not a direct payment to households.

Arkansas Northeastern College staffing and pay limits

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, Arkansas Northeastern College can employ up to 255 regular workers. The law sets job-specific counts and annual salary caps, including $214,799 for the president and $207,404 for a network engineer. The college can also employ up to 521 temporary or part-time workers when needed. Temporary workers’ pay must follow approved state classification rates or this law’s rates, using funds set aside for temporary help. These authorizations allow hiring but cap staffing and pay; they do not guarantee jobs or the maximum salary.
