Arkansas ambulance and police associations get funding

For July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law provides $620,000 through the Office of the Treasurer of State. The Arkansas Ambulance Association and the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police each receive a $310,000 appropriation. Money comes from the Arkansas Citizens First Responder Safety Enhancement Fund for staff costs, operating costs, and other expenses. Spending is limited to the named agency, fund, and purposes under Arkansas Code 19-43-277. Payments must follow applicable state purchasing, accounting, budget, revenue, salary, and finance department rules. The law also directs spending to match the purposes documented in budget materials, letters, or legislative committee testimony. This supports the associations, not direct household payments.
