Arkansas funds career coaches for students

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the Career Coaches Program gets about $5.23 million in authorized funding. This includes about $2.26 million for grants and aid and about $2.95 million for career coach expenses. Another $7,000 covers operating expenses, and $8,000 covers travel. The money comes from the division's Public School Fund Account. Coaches help students connect with career training, college, and employers; the law does not guarantee individual payments.

Arkansas funds career education grants

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law authorizes about $18.91 million for federal vocational education programs. This includes about $16.74 million for vocational education grants, with the rest supporting staff and program costs. It also sets aside $900,000 for expenses and grants under the Multiple Grant Award Programs. Arkansas's Chief Fiscal Officer designates the federal funds and the separate cash fund held in the State Treasury. These funds do not guarantee any household a grant.

Arkansas funds career education staff

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law sets aside about $4.50 million for Arkansas career education operations. The money comes from the Division of Career and Technical Education Fund Account. The division can employ up to 44 regular workers and four temporary or part-time workers for federal vocational education work. Temporary workers' pay cannot exceed the rate allowed for their job classification under state pay law or this act. Spending must follow applicable purchasing, budget, and financial rules.

Arkansas funds special-needs career education

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law provides about $1.12 million for coordinated career education services. This special-needs student program gets about $1.06 million for grants and aid, plus $56,000 for operations and travel. The money comes from the division's Public School Fund Account. These funds can match available federal funds during that year. The law does not set individual grant eligibility or guarantee payments to students.

Arkansas funds training for career teachers

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law sets aside $260,000 for career and technical education teachers' training. The money pays professional development costs, not direct household benefits. It comes from a cash fund held in the State Treasury and determined by Arkansas's Chief Fiscal Officer.

Arkansas funds vocational centers and startups

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law sets aside about $23.24 million for vocational center grants and aid. It also provides $4.74 million for vocational program startup grants and aid. Both amounts come from the division's Public School Fund Account. During that same year, this aid and coordinated special-needs career services funding can match available funds from any federal agency. The funding supports training programs, not guaranteed household payments.
