Extra funding for firefighter and police pensions

The law adds $8 million for fiscal year 2025–2026 to pay taxes for municipal fire and police pension funds. The money comes from the Firemen's and Police Officers' Pension and Relief Fund. This adds to funding approved in Act 1006 of 2025. The state finance department administers both appropriations through its Disbursing Officer. All payments under this law must follow the purposes documented in state budget materials and related legislative records.

More funding for Arkansas fire departments

The law adds $5 million for Arkansas fire department payments in fiscal year 2025–2026. The money comes from the Fire Protection Premium Tax Fund and follows existing state fire funding laws. This adds to funding approved in Act 1006 of 2025. All spending under this law is limited to legally available funds and must follow state spending controls and finance department rules. An emergency clause makes the law effective immediately.
