More money for Arkansas used tire cleanup

Arkansas provides an additional $2.5 million for the Division of Environmental Quality’s tire recycling and cleanup in fiscal year 2025–2026. This adds to funding in Section 33 of Act 791 of 2025. The law takes effect upon passage and approval. It requires the Chief Fiscal Officer to immediately transfer $2.5 million from the General Revenue Allotment Reserve Fund to the program’s state treasury cash fund. Spending must stay within authorized, available funds and follow state purchasing, budget, and other fiscal-control rules. The money must support the law’s stated purpose. Households receive no direct payments or new eligibility; benefits are indirect through tire recycling and cleanup.
