Arkansas health facilities keep project funding

Beginning July 1, 2026, the law renews authority to use remaining funds previously approved for two state health facility projects. The Department of Human Services can use up to $448,902 for the Arkansas Health Center warehouse distribution building. That covers construction, replacement, renovation, upgrades, and additions. It can also use up to $1.175065 million to repair or replace Arkansas State Hospital roofs. Both amounts come from the department’s Renovation Fund and cannot exceed the remaining balances approved in 2025. Contracts and obligations cannot exceed money actually available in the State Treasury. Agencies can add grants, donations, federal funds, and available funds not already committed, but cannot use maintenance and general operations appropriations. Spending must follow state purchasing and budget laws unless another law provides otherwise. Funds must serve the approved purposes reflected in budget materials and related records. This funding supports facilities, not direct household payments.
