Little Rock university funding for 2025–2026

For July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, the law funds University of Arkansas at Little Rock staff and operations. It sets aside about $72.9 million from the university fund and $162.3 million from cash funds. Cash funding includes $30 million for building improvements, about $16.6 million for capital purchases, and $13 million for debt payments. Separate funding provides $800,000 for Bowen School of Law from existing circuit-court filing-fee revenues and $2 million for nanotechnology staff, operations, and research. Spending must stay within approved amounts and available funds, follow state financial rules, and serve the stated budget purposes.

Staffing and pay limits at Little Rock

From July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, the law authorizes University of Arkansas at Little Rock staffing. It sets a 1,989-employee ceiling for the listed twelve-month educational and general academic workforce, with separate limits for other categories. Regular jobs have salary caps; examples include $386,768 for the chancellor and $418,024 for the STEM dean. The university can also hire up to 1,300 temporary or part-time workers, using approved funds within applicable job-class pay limits. These authorizations do not require the university to fill every job or pay the maximum salary.
