Arkansas judicial commission funding and staffing limits

Beginning July 1, 2026, the law provides $804,239 for Arkansas’s Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission through June 30, 2027. It caps the Commission at six regular employees. Authorized positions and pay grades are Director (SPC08), Fiscal Support Supervisor/Expert (SGS07), Legal Support Specialist (SGS06), Investigator II (SGS05), Administrative Coordinator (SGS04), and Attorney II (SPC05). Funding includes $426,018 for salaries and $145,376 for pay-related matching costs. Operating funds include $116,150 for operating expenses, $15,875 for conferences and travel, and $72,740 for professional fees. Investigator expenses receive $28,080; capital purchases and data processing each receive $0. Spending cannot exceed the appropriation or funds made available by law. The Commission must follow state purchasing, budgeting, salary, and other fiscal-control rules, and use funds for their approved purposes. This funds the existing Commission, not direct household payments or new programs.
