Analyzed Economic Effects

6 provisions identified: 6 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Funding for Arkansas child welfare advocates

For July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, Arkansas's Child Welfare Ombudsman office receives $279,360 from state agency funds. The law authorizes two child welfare ombudsmen. It also provides $200,030 from the State Central Services Fund for the Juvenile Ombudsman office. That office has one regular ombudsman position and one extra-help position as needed. The money supports oversight for families in these systems, not direct household payments.

Funding for Arkansas fair housing protections

For July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, Arkansas's Fair Housing Commission receives about $1.23 million from state agency funds. Its Education Trust receives $95,000 from the Arkansas Fair Housing Commission Trust Fund. The law authorizes 11 regular staff positions and up to two extra-help positions. The money supports housing enforcement, staff and public education—not rent assistance or direct household payments.

Funding for Arkansas oversight and integrity

For July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, the law provides about $6.35 million for Arkansas Inspector General shared services. This includes $5 million for program integrity and authorizes 11 regular staff positions. The state's chief fiscal officer selects the paying account, with transfers from the State Central Services Fund. Shared-services accounts can pay staff and operating costs; transfers stay within the department's appropriation acts through June 30, 2027. Spending must follow state purchasing, budget, revenue and salary rules and match agency requests and budget materials.

Funding for Arkansas state spending audits

For July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, Arkansas's Office of Internal Audit receives about $3.36 million. The money comes from the State Central Services Fund and pays staff and operating costs. The law authorizes up to 25 regular staff positions. It supports state oversight, not direct payments to households.

Funding for Arkansas Medicaid fraud checks

For July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, the law funds Arkansas's Office of Medicaid Inspector General. Operations receive about $1.15 million from state agency funds, $1.58 million in federal funds, and $345,909 in Treasury cash. The Enterprise Fraud Program receives $900,000 from state agency funds and $3.6 million in federal funds. The state's chief fiscal officer designates the federal and cash funding sources; staffing includes 25 regular positions and one extra-help position. This supports fraud detection and prevention, without changing Medicaid benefits or eligibility.

Funding for Arkansas taxpayers' appeals

For July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, Arkansas's Independent Tax Appeals Commission receives about $1.61 million. The State Central Services Fund pays for staff and operating costs. The law authorizes nine regular positions, including three tax appeals commissioners. This supports tax appeals but does not change tax rates or provide household payments.
