State funding for Arkansas property reappraisals

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law provides $15.75 million for county and professional property reappraisal work. The division director must certify monthly funding needs, and the state’s Chief Fiscal Officer must transfer the needed money. These transfers are capped at $14.25 million: 76% comes from the school fund, 16% from county aid, and 8% from municipal aid. With that officer’s approval, the director can transfer another $1.5 million total from the division’s state fund account. This funding does not itself change household property assessments, tax bills, or eligibility for assistance.

Funding for Arkansas assessors and training

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law provides $3.931282 million for Arkansas’s Assessment Coordination Division. It allows up to 33 regular positions and three temporary or part-time workers, with temporary pay subject to legal limits. The operating budget includes $325,000 for Assessor’s School and $150,000 for an assessment education incentive. Separate funding provides $55,000 for division operations and $60,000 from the county assessor education fund for continuing education. With the state’s Chief Fiscal Officer’s approval, the division director can move operating-expense funding to Assessor’s School for required training. Spending must follow procurement laws, fiscal controls, and the act’s stated budget recommendations. These funds do not create household payments or change property-tax rules.
