Arkansas Governor gets emergency response funding

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law provides $500,000 for the Governor’s emergency proclamation funding. This money comes from a state revolving fund and supports efforts to ease conditions caused by public emergencies. It commits public money to emergency needs but does not establish direct household payments or individual eligibility rules.

Funding and staffing for Arkansas Governor’s Office

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law provides about $6.49 million for Arkansas Governor’s Office operations. The money comes from the State Central Services Fund. It includes about $4.51 million for regular salaries, $8,789 for temporary help, and about $1.50 million for related employee costs. It also provides $446,706 for operating expenses, $15,200 for conferences and travel, and $14,000 for professional fees. The office can have up to 59 regular employees and seven temporary or part-time employees. Regular pay follows job grades, and temporary pay cannot exceed the applicable legal pay limits. During this fiscal year, the office can move money between operations budget items without adding funding. Each transfer needs Chief Fiscal Officer approval and prior review by the Arkansas Legislative Council or Joint Budget Committee. Spending must follow state budget and purchasing laws; this funding does not create direct household payments.
