For July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff has two main operating budgets. The law authorizes $25.671640 million from its state fund and $92.899520 million in university cash funds. These budgets include employer payroll-benefit contributions of $4.882693 million and $5.235857 million, respectively, plus $500,000 for cash-funded overtime. Cash funds also include $36 million for campus improvements, $4 million for capital purchases, and $2.602223 million for debt payments. State funding includes $1 million for contingencies; professional fees receive $575,000 from state funds and $4.440232 million from cash funds. Spending must stay within the approved amounts and follow state financial and purchasing rules; these are not direct household payments.
From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the university must direct $252,558 to Jenkins Center support in Pine Bluff. This money comes from the state operating budget, not an added appropriation. It supports the Center and a university training program run with the Center. Any cut to the state operating appropriation must reduce this support by the same percentage.
The law provides $5.997200 million for the university’s 1890 Extension Program from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The money comes from the university’s state fund and pays for staff and operating costs. It supports agricultural and community services, not direct payments to households.
From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the university can employ up to 880 regular workers. It can also use up to 924 temporary or part-time extra-help workers when needed. Regular pay cannot exceed listed annual limits, including $207,404 for a network engineer and $200,539 for the finance vice chancellor. Extra-help pay cannot exceed the applicable state classification or act rate and must come from funds set aside for extra help. These hiring permissions also set staffing and pay ceilings; they do not guarantee jobs or the maximum salary.
