Arkansas State Newport gets operating funding

For July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law sets spending limits for Arkansas State University–Newport. It authorizes about $8.82 million from the university's state fund and $51.635 million from its cash funds. State funding covers salaries ($5.85 million), temporary staff ($125,000), related staff costs ($1.2 million), operations ($1.547029 million), and depreciation ($100,000). Cash funding covers salaries ($5.7 million), temporary staff ($400,000), related staff costs ($3.5 million), and operations ($5 million). It also covers travel ($300,000), professional fees ($600,000), capital purchases ($15 million), and building improvements ($20 million). Cash funding includes debt payments ($1 million), transfers, refunds and investments ($40,000), and promotional items ($95,000). Spending cannot exceed these limits or available funds. The university must follow state purchasing, budget, salary, and spending rules and the purposes recorded in official budget documents.
