Arkansas renews land and historic preservation funds

Beginning July 1, 2026, Arkansas renews two Forestry funding amounts: up to $950,889 and $415,000. These amounts are limited to remaining balances from Act 297 of 2025. The money comes from the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Grant and Trust Fund for the Department of Agriculture–Forestry. It supports buying, managing, caring for, or preserving state-owned lands, historic sites, buildings, structures, and objects. The department cannot make contracts or commitments beyond available funds or use these appropriations for routine operations. It can add grants, donations, federal funds, and cash or other funds not already committed. Spending must follow state purchasing, accounting, budget, and fiscal-control laws unless another law provides otherwise. It must also match the purposes recorded in official budget requests, recommendations, and related records. This funding supports public resources, not direct household payments.
