More funding for pregnancy and stroke programs

For fiscal year 2025–2026, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences gets an extra $5 million. This supports its High-Risk Pregnancy Program and IDHI Stroke Program, adding to funding approved under Act 533 of 2025. The law takes effect upon passage and approval. It requires an immediate, one-time $5 million transfer from the General Revenue Allotment Reserve Fund to the University of Arkansas Medical Center Fund. Spending must stay within authorized, available funds and follow state spending, purchasing, and budget rules and lawmakers’ stated purposes. The law does not set individual eligibility, benefit amounts, or direct household payments.
