Arkansas communities get more grant funding

The law adds $10 million to Arkansas’s Community Assistance Grant Program for fiscal year 2025–2026, supplementing existing funding. The Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Rural Services Division administers the money for eligible Arkansas entities, not direct household payments. To fund these grants, the Chief Fiscal Officer must immediately transfer $10 million from the General Revenue Allotment Reserve Fund when the law takes effect. The money goes into a paying account chosen by that officer. Spending must stay within approved funding, serve the stated purposes, and follow state purchasing, budgeting, and fiscal control laws.
