Colorado Changes Rules for Household Tax Credits

Beginning with tax year 2025, Colorado changes calculations for its family affordability and earned income tax credits. The baseline is the March 2024 state budget office forecast of fiscal year 2024-25 revenue, rather than actual revenue. The formula measures compound annual growth from that baseline to projected revenue for the fiscal year beginning during each tax year. That growth helps determine whether the credits are available and how much eligible households receive. This law does not state the growth thresholds or credit amounts.
