Tax relief for transit worker housing

Colorado regional transportation authorities can build, alter, or repair housing for their employees or contractors. The law does not require them to build housing. Contractors and subcontractors pay no Colorado sales tax on building materials for these projects. Storage, use, or consumption of those materials is also exempt from Colorado use tax. The housing must be owned and used by the authority, and the work must fall within its authorized powers.
