Pediatric nursing facilities keep their assessment exemption
Delaware nursing facilities are exempt from the quality assessment when their average daily resident count is at least 80% people under 21. This rule is intended to preserve Exceptional Care for Children’s exemption when its Bridge Unit opens. That unit helps a small number of residents turning 21 move from pediatric to adult care. The Delaware Veterans Home and government-owned facilities remain exempt.
