$2,500 scholarships for future Delaware teachers

Beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, the law provides a $2,500 Teacher Academy scholarship for one academic year. It may be paid in two equal semester payments of $1,250. Applicants must have completed a Teacher Academy at a Delaware public school, including charter and vocational-technical schools. They must attend a Delaware college or university full time in a state-approved teacher preparation program, seeking a bachelor's degree. They must start in the fall semester immediately after high school graduation. Applicants must apply for all appropriate aid they qualify for, including Pell Grants, Delaware Higher Education Office aid, and school aid. They must accept all offered aid except loans. Educator Support Scholarship applicants are also considered; a separate Teacher Academy application may not be required. The program allows no more than 35 awards yearly, subject to funding. Delaware's Department of Education sets competitive award criteria when applications exceed available funding. The program continues while funding is available, with expansion tied to interest and funding in later school years.
