Some felons can manage estates with conditions

Delaware’s Register of Wills can now approve estate managers whose convictions bar them from taking an oath. Approval is discretionary, and applicants must show good cause. The Register can require a lawyer admitted to practice before the Delaware Supreme Court throughout the estate administration. That requirement can add legal costs. Minors and people who are mentally incapacitated remain barred from serving.
